Ludwig Senfl (1486–1543) was one of the leading European composers of the Reformation period and was highly regarded as a musician by Martin Luther. Among other things, however, he was also the court composer of Emperor Maximilian I. The present recording was recorded in St. Emmeram in Regensburg and, in addition to the Missa paschalis, offers a selection of both sacred and secular works Senfl in various instrumentations.
