This album is the result of a long exchange between Daniel Brel, Bandonéon's direction finder, and Vincent Dumestre, leader of Le Poéme Harmonique. The idea of combining historical instruments with the sound of the bandonéon immediately appealed to them. Together they walked the "Four Ways of Melancholy", which lead the listener through different sound worlds and moods: from tango to the musical avant-garde to early music.
