Paul Badura-Skoda (*1927) is undoubtedly one of the most important living pianists in Austria. His musical personality is characterized by a complete immersion in music, a passionate search for the essential in the works and a high artistic responsibility. As a native of Vienna, Badura-Skoda's artistic work naturally focuses on the composers of the Viennese Classical period and Franz Schubert. Two concert recordings from 1959 and 1978 are heard here for the first time, underlining his importance as an internationally sought-after Mozart interpreter. Collectors will be particularly enthusiastic about the 1959 recording with Georg Szell.
