This is the third album by gypsy crooner Lemmy Constantine and it is even better than the previous ones. Gypsy crooner, because he has the alliance of Frank Sinatra and Django Reinhardt at home. A deep, well-timed voice and an impeccable American accent (it changes a lot these days, French people who try it with a Franchouillard accent) or a perfect French accent (Lemmy is an absolute bilingual) when he sings in French ( What remains of our loves, Man and Child, with Chloé Stefani). As he is accompanied, among others, by Costel Nitescu or by Mathilde Febrer, two of the best violinists, by Jean-Claude Laudat, the accordionist who swings faster than his shadow and who should be as famous as Richard Galliano, and by guitarist Adrien Moignard, well known in gypsy swing enthusiasts circles, the result is convincing. The repertoire includes Django (Djangology), standards (Satin Doll), gypsy waltzes (Indifference by Joseph Colombo) and quite successful personal compositions (The New Hero, Shine the Light). •
