With their unique mixture of lyricism and science, breathtaking from such a young composer, the four works assembled here build a most welcome integral recording on period instruments, performed with the most communicative warmth on scores scrupulously based the original manuscripts. The programme is obviously dominated by the Symphony, that can be put on the same level as Schuberts contemporary masterworks. This CD belongs to the prestigious collection Los Siglos de Oro initiated by Fundacin Caja Madrid.
