One of the great creations of the Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov is the symphonic suite "Scheherazade". Under the baton of its General Music Director Fabio Luisi, the Zurich Philharmonia performs this work, which is based on the famous stories of Princess Scheherazade from "Thousand and One Nights", he's working. Now a live recording of the concert from Zurich Opera House will be released, in which - according to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung - the orchestra has performed "at its best": "Concertmaster Bartlomiej Nizioł, who with his solo violin who embodies the figure of Scheherazade, who tells the story of her life, plays his exposed part with pure intonation and great creative freedom. Fabio Luisi conducts with emotional gesture and brings out the narrative by alternately pushing and restraining.
