This new jazz collection from Cristal Records offers 2 thematic CDs; the first is dedicated to the essential standards of the topic discussed, the second, on the same topic, presents an anthology of titles from the Cristal Records catalog. Cristal Records, for more than twenty years, works to discover original artists, evolving in the different styles and currents of jazz: from bop to gypsy jazz through world jazz and the most contemporary jazz. To begin this collection: an opus devoted to the blues with in the first CD concocted by Claude Carrière essentials such as "Blue Monk" played by Thelonius Monk himself, "Blue Bash", "Bessie's Blues" by and by respectively Jimmy Smith and John Coltrane .
And in the second CD, "Gee Baby, Ain't Good To You?" By Ronald Baker and his quintet with China Moses, "Blues # 7" by François Théberge Group with Lee Konitz, but also the astonishing "Cousin Bechet Blues "by Manu Dibango or" Creole Blues "by Duke Ellington played by the unexpected Sophia Domancich and her Pentacle.
