The Orlando Consort has meanwhile made a name for itself as one of the most imaginative groups in the representation of medieval music. On this CD, the ensemble meets the British jazz quartet Perfect Houseplants to breathe new life into one of the greatest medieval melodies, "L'homme armé", which inspired great composers such as Guillaume Dufay. This extraordinary musical realization of a mass for the Archangel Michael's feast was created in an unusually artistically inspired climate that combines the desire for improvisation with respect for centuries-old tradition.
