José-Luis Garcia became leader / director of the English Chamber Orchestra in 1973.
Over the next 25 years he was involved in hundreds of recordings, many with the leading soloists and conductors of the twentieth century.
This collection of Mozart Serenades was made in December 1982 at the dawn of the digital era, when all standard repertoire was being re-recorded. It was immediately released on LP but not subsequently issued on CD.
