After two extremely successful productions with works by Triebensee (PC10125) and Krommer (PC10142), the Amphion Wind Octet, which plays on period instruments, is now turning its attention to the undisputed summit works of the Viennese Classic for this instrumentation. It is hard to imagine more substantial light music than Mozart's contributions to the genre, and so the two octet serenades have been able to conquer a firm place in the repertoire. The Amphion Wind Octet proves here once again its top position among wind ensembles.
