She left behind an extensive body of work, an opera, a ballet, a Te Deum and a large legacy of chamber music, all testifying to her broad range of abilities. Just like her cousin François Couperin, Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre developed an intense interest in Italian music and turned to the Italian genre of the sonata in the last years of the 17th century.
