description
Of all the fascinating, little-known figures who populated the world of Italian song in the early 17th century, Giulio Sant Pietro de' Negri is one of the most interesting. His songs include startlingly original and interesting settings, even by the experimental standards of the time. This collection, featuring the ensemble Faenza conducted by Marco Horvat, samples some of the composer's finest works.
