description
Inspired by the French Baroque opera "Psyché," which Lully, Molière, Corneille and Quinault created together, Locke's "Psyche" was a true artistic firework. It sought to rival the operas of continental Europe, luxuriously combining theater, song, and dance, as well as spectacular stagecraft and breathtaking scenery. Sébastien Daucé presents his magnificent reconstruction of this central masterpiece in the history of early English opera.
