description
Matteo Carcassi (1796-1853) was an influential Italian guitarist, composer and pianist. His works for guitar excel in their technical brilliance and pedagogical value, serving as essential studies for guitarists of various skill levels.
His most significant publication, “Méthode complète pour la guitare,” is a comprehensive method book that provides a structured approach to learning the instrument, blending technical exercises with musicality.
In addition to his pedagogical works, Carcassi composed numerous concert Fantasias that showcase the guitar’s lyrical and virtuosic capabilities. This new recording presents Fantasias on popular opera arias by Auber and Rossini.
Played with impressive command and flair by Raffaele Carpino, guitar.
