Erkki-Sven Tüür is one of the best-known and most distinguished composers of our time. The Este, who started his career as a keyboarder and singer in a punk band, has conquered a large audience with his music.
Ondine has now released Tüür's Clarinet Concerto Peregrinus Ecstaticus, composed in 2012, alongside the Concerto for Violin, Clarinet and Orchestra Noēsis from 2014. Tüür wrote the Clarinet Concerto on behalf of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, which, under the proven direction of its principal conductor Hannu Lintu, is also presenting the world premiere recording of the piece here.
