beskrivning
Discover the bold and unpredictable music of Malcolm Williamson—one of the most performed composers of his generation, now largely forgotten.
This new album, featuring several world premiere recordings, sheds fresh light on a figure who defied convention, blending serialism with striking lyricism.
From the forthright tunefulness of the Clarinet Trio (1958) to the intricate Concerto for Wind Quintet and Two Pianos, Eight Hands (1966), these performances—led by pianist and producer Antony Gray—bring Williamson’s dynamic and expressive music vividly to life.
With works spanning nearly five decades, this recording is a vital step in reassessing the legacy of a composer who refused to conform.
