Forqueray - Peices de Viole
Marin Marais and Antoine Forqueray (1672-1745) are the most virtuosic violists of the golden age of the viola da gamba. While Marais largely avoided Italian influences in his music, Forqueray willingly opened himself to the Italian desire for virtuosity. Lorenz Duftschmid, together with Armonico tributo Austria, takes on the enormous technical demands of Forqueray's viola da gamba pieces.
