Adrien-François Servais (1807-1866) was the Paganini of the violoncello. With his wonderful Stradivarius instrument, he not only captivated audiences in concert and at salons from Paris to Constantinople, but also composers such as Berlioz, Liszt and Rossini. Didier Poskin and the Ensemble Rosamunde present here four pieces by the master, including the famous Souvenir de Spa, which cannot deny their origin from the Salon - and do not need it. There has never been better entertainment in the salon, the "lounge" of the 19th century.
