Johannes Schöllhorn (*1962) studied composition in Freiburg with Klaus Huber and Emmanuel Nunes, among others, and attended conducting courses with Peter Eötvös. From 1995 to 2000 he taught composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Winterthur-Zürich and also conducted the Ensemble für Neue Musik at the Musikhochschule Freiburg until 2004. Since 2001 he has been Professor of Composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. When asked about composers who had influenced him or who occupy a special position in his oeuvre, Schöllhorn mentioned in an interview not only modern classics such as Ravel, Stravinsky, Webern, Maderna and Nono, but also composers of past epochs such as Josquin de Prez, Monteverdi and Haydn. Together with the WDR Symphony Orchestra and The New Ensemble, Johannes Kalitzke presents a small exhibition of the composer's works based on compositions from the years 1995-2000
