The story about the harpsichordist Ulli Nagy and the baroque cellist Marie Orsini-Rosenberg the ensemble Concertino Amarilli, which has been in existence for eleven years now, is primarily dedicated to Italian baroque music. • Now the "6 Sonata a Oboè solo con il Basso" by Milan oboist and composer Giuseppe Sammartini, known not least for his more prominent younger brother Giovanni, will be heard for the first time on CD. Technically demanding and yet tailored to the instrument, the works are refreshing, entertaining and with the highest precision in articulation and expression of interpretation. For this production, previously unpublished manuscripts from the Sibley Library of the University of Rochester, N. Y. were reviewed and compared with historical copies.
