opis
Quantz was the most important German flute virtuoso of his time. He left more than 500 works for flute. With Buffardin, the solo flutist at the Dresden court, he had acquired the French style of performance, with Pisendel, Vivaldi's former pupil, the Italian style of composition - this is how the "mixed taste" emerged, which was to become his trademark and formed the basis of the style of composition and performance known as the "Berlin School". As flute teacher and court musician of Frederick II "the Great", Quantz was able to make this style known beyond the borders of Berlin and Potsdam.
