The hectic life is entirely foreign to the music of this composer born in Gdansk and trained in Cracow, Stuttgart, and Paris. Janca’s finely crafted musical lines continue on their course, enhancing the color and radiance of the instruments and obtaining their substantial power from deep faith in the Risen Christ.
In Janca’s compositions the trombone highlights the organ’s multifaceted sound resources. In the suite and more so in the tripartite “Christ is risen,” the soloist always has to acknowledge the overall order of things but also has a great many opportunities to create his own atmospheres, color shadings, and dynamics – all with the highest virtuosity.
