Cristobal Halffter's first opera premiered in Madrid on 23.2.2000, those present experienced a great moment in European music theatre. After years of artistic reflection, Halffter presented here his view of the Spanish musical tradition, which at the same time represents a bow to the "old" Spanish masters such as Juan del Enzina and Cabezón. Just in time for the "Don Quixote Year" 2005-1605, Cervantes' masterpiece Glossa presents the opera and proves that it not only knows how to produce good early music.
