Virtuoso arrangements were a specialty of the piano virtuoso Leopold Godowsky, who planned to publish at the beginning of the last century under the title "Renaissance" four books of four pieces each with virtuoso arrangements of then only little known baroque composers such as Rameau, Corelli and Lully, but of which only 16 were completed. The 16 existing arrangements are not only an interesting document of the rediscovery of an entire musical epoch, but also fascinating virtuoso music that will amaze not only connoisseurs. Italian pianist Carlo Grante once again proves to be a competent advocate for Godowsky's amazing piano music.
