description
The "Volga" Ensemble, whose music was used in Spielberg's blockbuster film "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," presents the most beautiful and famous songs from "Mother Russia," Ukraine, Georgia (Caucasus), and other regions. The rich repertoire offers the full spectrum of traditional sounds from both sides of the Urals and includes both old Russian folk songs and well-known liturgical melodies of the Orthodox Church, as well as newer works by contemporary composers. The musicians accompany themselves on various traditional Russian instruments, documenting the full range of Russian musicality—unique in its expression and still truly traditional.
