description
David Fanshawe (1942–2010) was a composer, ethnic recording engineer, photographer, and television personality. His quest to record indigenous folk music began in 1966 in the Middle East and intensified during subsequent travels through North and East Africa (1969–75).
David's legacy is enshrined in the Fanshawe Collections, some 3,000 tapes and 60,000 images he recorded during his travels in Arabia, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific between 1967 and 1994.
This vibrant album of exotic and beautiful music from Thailand and Laos, recorded by Mr. Fanshawe, is enchanting, hypnotic, and full of charisma.
