description
A recommendation for every belly dancer's archive. This double CD features Hossam Ramzy's most popular belly dance workshop music, with a personally written introduction to Arabic rhythm and dance, including exercises to interpret the music.
"For several decades I worked to find out more about the mindset of the dancers and their approach to the dance, as it is very important for me, as a composer of belly dance music, to understand this. I discovered that there was a common denominator. I found out that the dancer is the last musical instrument of an orchestra. She is the instrument that translates the sound of the music into a three-dimensional, moving form. The dancer is a musical instrument that has the supernatural ability to hear the sound that the soloist is playing at the same moment that the sound is created in the soloist's imagination, even before he hears it on his instrument" (Hossam Ramzy, 2007).
