A musical family portrait
Jordi Savall and Montserrat Figueras with their children Arianna and Ferran and percussionist Pedro Estevan have put together a wide-ranging programme for this CD. It ranges from the medieval Cantigas de Amigo and Sephardic songs to baroque music, from world music from Afghanistan, Israel, Morocco, Greece to Catalonia and Brittany and its own improvisations.
"Du temps & de l'instant" is a very personal selection of music, which captivates by its tenderness and beauty, but also by its expressiveness and harmony. ... The programme is conceived as an intercultural dialogue that tries to build bridges between oriental and occidental music, between serious and traditional folk music, between old and contemporary music, between the different generations of musicians themselves and between the musicians and the public" (Jordi Savall)
