description
Klezmer music has a very special charm that cannot be found in any other musical style. It is a kind of melancholic exuberance; simultaneously happy and sad; klezmer sounds like laughter and tears at the same time. Klezmer is a musical genre that is constantly evolving and defies easy definition. This diverse collection explores the many forms of klezmer, from more "traditional" to those with a more modern touch, played by bands from Poland, Great Britain, Germany, America, Sweden, and Denmark. A brief description of the collection's contents can be found in the accompanying booklet.
