description
When I hear music by J. S. Bach early in the morning, the day usually begins with good verve. The purity of the music has an invigorating and calming effect on me at the same time. Every single note, every musical utterance has its rightful place and nothing ever seems too little elaborated, too elaborated or too intense. Music flows with a naturalness that brings the intellectual, emotional and spiritual into harmony with us. (Rachel Podger) • Born in England, Rachel Podger attended a Rudolf Steiner School in Germany before returning to her home country to study. She has been able to deepen her growing interest in historical performance practice with various London ensembles, including the New London Consort, the Gabrieli Consort, Florilegium (of which she is a founding member) and London Baroque. Today she belongs to the generally recognized elite of young baroque violinists.
