Beschreibung
The French violist Christophe Desjardins (*1962) presents with the double CD "Alto / Multiples" a multifaceted portrait of his instrument and recommends himself as one of the most prominent violists of his profession. The first CD takes us into the world of modern literature for solo viola from Hindemith to Berio. • The second expands the horizon not only with regard to the possibilities of acoustic doubling, it also places early music by Gilles Binchois and Carlo Gesualdo in direct dialogue with works by Jonathan Harvey and Wolfgang Rihm
