Samuel Barber began his compositional career as a true child prodigy, because he composed his first opera at the age of 10 - or at least its first act, because after that the cook who wrote the lyrics ran out of ideas... As an organist he started out in the professional field, and although his main focus later lay in other areas, there are always pieces for the organ throughout his work. Rudolf Innig has recorded all of them and thus offers an exciting insight into the development of a fulfilled composer's life.
