The folk ensemble YEKSAD plays popular traditional songs and instrumental pieces from the Turkish side of Cyprus, an island in the eastern part of the Mediterranean, south of Turkey and west of Syria.
The people of Cyprus enjoy a temperate climate with hot, dry summers and cool winters.
