The most French of all Americans, the harpsichordist and conductor William Christie, has owned an estate in the southwest of France since the 1980s, whose gardens he has transformed into a baroque paradise. In this inspiring atmosphere a music festival takes place every year in August with many artistic friends of the founder of Les Arts Florissants. Since this year, the town has also housed the Le Jardin des Voix vocal academy, from which the soprano Sonya Yoncheva, the countertenor Xavier Sabata, the tenor Reinoud van Mechelen or the bass baritone Konstantin Wolff and many others have emerged.
