Former Syrian television and radio star Zein Al-Jundi brings Syrian music to life on this recording. Al-Jundi was born in Homs, Syria, and grew up in the capital Damascus. She began singing professionally at a young age and quickly became a household name.
When she discovered that her passion for music had not been extinguished despite years of absence, she decided to return to music, which has since taken a more central role in her life and occupied more of her time.
From the beginning and for many centuries, music has been at the heart of Syrian culture, forming an integral part of every aspect of it. No matter what the occasion, a wedding or engagement, the birth of a child or a religious festival, it is always celebrated with a song.
