The difference between Music & Arts and the numerous free riders in the boom with historical recordings is, among other things, that one openly points out less than perfect documents in the catalogue. The slight weaknesses in the performance of the two Tchaikovsky works are not so much due to Arturo Toscanini's incompetence, but rather to the advanced age of the maestro, who was already 86 years old at the time. Nevertheless, these are interesting recordings that complete the picture of one of the greatest conductors ever.
