After the rehearsal recording of Traviata, Music & Arts now releases the restored version of the rehearsals for a radio broadcast of Verdi's Falstaff, a work that Toscanini called the most beautiful of all Verdi's operas and therefore conducted more often than any other. We experience Toscanini here as an efficient rehearsal worker who, despite all the anecdotes that have come down to us, did not need to smash a clock or a baton every time things did not go as he wanted.
