beskrivning
Naiyândi Mêlam is the term for the ensemble of shawm (oboe) and drum players that accompanies the domestic and religious ceremonies of castes of low status. This CD presents the music of feasts and possession cults to the goddess and the demon gods: instrumental pieces and adaptations of popular songs where the subtlety and exuberance of the shawms, along with the dynamism and power of the drums, reach their climax. Large-size hardback digipack packaging with comprehensive sleeve notes.
