A highly attractive collection of Baroque keyboard works, from Sweelinck to Scarlatti, played on the modern piano!

The eternal question on what instrument keyboard music from the Baroque should be played will never be solved, historical evidence and personal tastes will never be fully reconciled over this hotly debated controversy.

By no means supplying a definitive answer to the question Brilliant Classics nevertheless proudly presents a wide selection of Baroque keyboard works, on the modern piano. Ranging from the early Baroque of J.P. Sweelinck (1561-1621) it traverses through works by J.S. Bach (1685-1750; Goldberg Variations, Italian Concerto, Partitas), Handel (1685-1759; Suites), Rameau (1683-1764), Espona (1714-1779), Giustini (1685- 1743), Galuppi (1706-1785) and Scarlatti (1685-1757).

Played by excellent pianists: Klára Würtz (Gramophone Editor’s Choice, 10/10 Classics Today), Yuan Sheng, Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy (Gramophone Editor’s Choice), Andrea Molteni, and others.
