What makes a successful jazz album? We don't really know, but there is something there that comes under a kind of alchemy that is not always explained but which, when it occurs, is able to stir your whole body. And in this alchemy, in this magic alloy, it is very often a question of ENERGY. In any case, this is the brilliant demonstration provided here by double bassist Stéphane Kerecki who, in this "pianoless" trio, signs the entire composition with Matthieu Donarier on tenor and soprano and Thomas Grimonprez on drums at his side. And it turns out well between these three! It “fiery”, in a way, for a wildly alive album.
