Ciro in Babilonia, an opera in two acts about the victory of the Persian ruler Cyrus II over the Babylonian king Belshazzar. The renowned coloratura alto Ewa Podleś was won for the title role. Ciro's counterpart, as at the Caramoor International Music Festival New York in June, will be Michael Spyres. Jessica Pratt, who shone last year in Pesaro in the rarely performed dramma per musica Adelaide di Borgogna, can be heard as Amira.
