This is achieved by using the services of the finest transfer engineers, such as Mark Obert-Thorn and Ward Marston, to produce restorations of outstanding quality. This release of Vol. 5 in our ongoing series of recordings made by Sergey Rachmaninov. Rachmaninov had recorded for Thomas Edison until 1919, when the company's dithering over meeting some of Rachmaninov's contractual demands gave an opportunity for the Victor Record company to step in and clinch an alternative deal with the composer-pianist. This release includes recordings made during the period 1919-1923.
