Nakład wyprzedany, ostatni egzemplarz Beethoven shaped the form of the piano trio for the entire 19th century by elevating the string instruments to equal partners of the piano. Three outstanding Beethovenians present the master's last two trios: the op. 70, no. 2 (1808), dedicated to Countess Marie Erdödy, and the famous Archduke Trio (1811). The premiere of the work marks Beethoven's last appearance as a pianist.
