Early on Ledroit was committed to the rediscovery of the secular vocal music of Marc-Antoine Charpentier, whose secular cantatas and airs de cour can still be counted among the precious rarities of the repertoire. • The recordings of 1981 and 1987 with the Ricercar Consort make his joy not only audible in the music of Charpentier and document the artistic achievement of this extraordinary singer.
