The French period-instrument ensemble Les Dissonances launched their own label with this set featuring Brahms's Violin Concerto and the first-ever recording of the Symphony No.4 without a conductor. Les Dissonances is composed of brilliant soloists from major European orchestras. Violin soloist and leader David Grimal and the ensemble make all decisions collectively and embrace the same artistic standards. Violin and orchestra are one, with the interpretation of the work being carried both by Grimal and intense listening to the structure of the work by all the musicians.
