Many scenes, photos and amateur footage are shown for the first time ever. • Philippe Kohly's documentary follows the life of the diva with a variety of documents: with memories of her teacher Elvira de Hidalgo and the brilliant director Lucchino Visconti. • There have been singers like the Italian-American soprano Rosa Ponselle mentioned in the documentary, who was a vocal wonder and had a greater natural voice. Maria Callas ("don't talk about her, she started with better means") but belonged to the artists who opened up new ways of singing. Her path led into the past - and created a simultaneity with the present. She has given back to the romantic bel canto opera, whose ornamental singing is trivialized to the freestyle of chirping coloratura sopranos, the rank of a dramatic art of high altitude.
