"Now that heaven, earth, and wind are silent, and sleep brings animals and birds to rest, the night leads the starry chariot into the round..." Thanks to the genius of great poets like Francesco Petrarca, we are still moved today in the 21st century by these old but eternally touching words. Claudio Monteverdi sets them to music in his wonderful madrigal Hor che'l ciel e la terra.

This mysterious night knows how to absorb the silence, this fundamental element of music. Thus the night reveals the most heartfelt laments, the most hidden joys and the most distant murmurs. Even then we discover the shimmer of the moon and the stars, which awakens in us the feeling of being part of the immensity of the infinite universe. This makes our thoughts clear and our imagination returns to its freedom, which enables us to achieve everything our hearts desire. Jordi Savall
