The headline release for September comes from three of the finest international instrumentalists Trio Shaham Erez Wallfisch. Here the SEW Trio perform the monumental "Archduke" Trio Op.97, a piece which represents Beethoven at the peak of his creativity. The première of Archduke Trio was one of Beethoven's final concert performances as a pianist, dedicated to Archduke Rudolf of Austria, it was Beethoven's last piano trios and remains one of his best known chamber works. Structured in four movements, the trio is in grand concept almost a symphony from three musicians. Beginning with a majestic sonata, followed by a dark dramatic middle section and serene songlike andante leading to a playful jolly final movement.
