Only little chamber music for the flute has survived from Beethoven's pen. The Viennese classical titan did not particularly appreciate the delicate instrument. Maybe he should have heard this ensemble with the phenomenal Karl Kaiser! I'm sure his mind would have changed. With the Serenade op. 25, he succeeded in producing a unique, light-footed work which the Ardinghello Ensemble have now recorded anew together with the weighty String Trio op. 3.
