Lo Jo are a quirky, yet brilliant band based around a creative farmhouse in the Loire. Their distinctive sound is centred on the gravelly voice of singer/songwriter Denis Péan with backing vocals from two sisters of Moroccan origin, Nadia and Yamina Nid El Mourid. Around them are a wide range of instruments collected on their travels around the world. Even though the first song of this, their 13th album(!), follows the most clichéd chord progression in French chanson, it still sounds original and La Marseillaise en Creole typifies their playful approach. The title track is a playful instrumental with Richard Bourreau on solo violin and quirky vocal doodling from long-time fan Robert Wyatt.
